The ISBIE-2009 program will comprise plenary lectures as well as poster presentations, all taking place in the same building. The ISBIE series were initiated by the International Forum of Bio-Inspired Engineering (IFBIE), an American not-for-profit organization whose main mission is to support the ISBIE series, reflecting the rapidly growing activity at the interfaces between molecular life sciences and engineering sciences. These new paradigms of scientific, technological and commercial activities have already yielded not only new strategies in drug discovery and innovative biomedical devices, but also new materials, including nano-materials, new catalysts, electronic, magnetic and photonic devices, bio-molecular computing devices, etc.
We sincerely hope that this meeting will put new perspectives on bio-Inspired engineering and provide a comprehensive and productive exchange of ideas for all participants.
