Poster Instructions

Following the success of the previous ISBIE events, the ISBIE-2009 symposium will feature both posters and plenary lectures. All poster presenters MUST register and submit their poster abstracts by deadline. Posters will be accepted in the following categories: chemical biology, pharmaceutical biotechnology, materials science, nanotechnology, and biological sciences.

Location
The poster sessions will be in the Building for Humanities and Social Sciences. This is also the place where the plenary talks take place.

Poster Set-up Time
Presenters are responsible for assembling their poster board and removing the poster. Posters must be set up on Wednesday, October 21 between 8:20 am - 12 noon and taken down on Friday, October 23 between 1 pm - 3 pm. To mount the poster onto the poster board, please use pushpins provided at the symposium. There will be two poster sessions during the symposium. Session I will be Wednesday, October 21 from 1:10 pm - 2:20 pm, and Session II will be Thursday, October 22 from 1:15 pm - 2:25 pm. Presenters will be assigned one session during which they must be available at their poster display to answer questions. Each presenter will be given a poster board number around September 30, 2009.

Poster Format
Poster dimensions are 35 inches high by 59 inches wide, or 90 cm high by 150 cm wide. Presenters are encouraged to use large font sizes so the poster can be easily read.

Poster Awards

Posters in both post-doc and RA/student categories will be eligible for nomination for the poster awards providing that they meet the requirements and instructions for the ISBIE-2009 poster sessions as described on this website. Selections will be based on clarity of presentation, content and research, layout and design of the poster. The ISBIE-2009 symposium will present six poster awards—three to post-doc authors, and three to RA/student authors—with prizes of NT$5000, NT$3000, and NT$2000 for first, second, and third place, respectively. All ISBIE-2009 Poster Award winners will have an opportunity to attend the Banquet on Thursday, October 22 and the awards will be made at the closing ceremonies for the symposium on Friday, October 23, 2009.
